Jacob at his first doctor's appt

Hip Hip Hooray. We are so excited that he is home. We brought him home on Friday and have had to go to the lab every other day to get his platelets checked. His levels are holding steady so as of now he is doing good. He is sleeping great at night and eatting well too. We are enjoying having Nana here and Daddy home from work. Here are some recent pictures.

So, do they look alike?

This is Claire as a newborn...Look at those cheeks!

We think they do...Claire is into bringing Jacob things. The first day she brought him a paci and was so excited to put it in his mouth. Yesterday she brought him a duck rattle and was so excited to put it in his hand. Today she was just mad that she couldn't sit in mommy's lap. She will have to learn... We have a friend with a baby named Caroline that Claire went swimming with one day and for some reason she will not call Jacob anything but Caroline. She refuses to call him Jacob. It is pretty funny considering if we had a girl we would have named her Caroline :) Update on Jacob: His levels are still doing good and if everything goes okay tonight and tomorrow morning we might get to bring him home tomorrow! Hooray! Megan has been at the hospital for a week now and is READY to come HOME! So hopefully all goes well.

Jacob Thomas

Our little guy decided to make his arrival a little bit early:) I went to my normal doctor check-up and they noticed my amniotic fluid was low so they decided to admit me and I was in the hospital from Thursday until I was induced Monday, and he was born at 4:02 pm. He weighed 7 pounds and 5 ounces and was 18 inches long. Not sure why we have such short babies :) He is doing okay. I got discharged today but he will most likely have to stay until next week because of a blood platelet problem. He is fine, but they are sorting some stuff out. I still have a room up there so am not really home. My mom is here with Claire and Nate is back and forth like a crazy man! Here are some pictures for you to enjoy. More to come.

Claire's New Room

Well, before we can begin working on the new baby's room, we had to finish Claire's room. It has been done for quite a while except her little table and chairs that I just finished painting. The table is lime green and the chairs are a watermelon color. We are really happy with how her room turned out! She helped us paint and put all the stickers on the wall. She is so proud of them. She likes to say good morning and good night to all the creatures on her wall. The baby's room should be done soon so be on the lookout for a "virtual tour" when we get that done.

Not doing anything exciting...

We haven't done any really cool to blog about lately. Here are some silly pics of Claire doing normal everyday things. We finally let her fingerpaint...She didn't understand that she wasn't supposed to paint her body. But it was fun anyways. Her walking around in my shoes...she has gotten that one down. We don't let her go in the backyard without shoes and we have crocs by the door. So when we mention that she needs shoes she will just go put ours on and walk around. It works, right? Here she is taking a "nap" with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto. Also, playing with some costume jewelry. She loves loves loves necklaces and bracelets! Such a girly girl. Hope all is well with everyone. Only 1 more month for us until new baby comes. We are far behind on room and names but should get with the program shortly. Need some new belly pics too...

Disney

Hmmm. Where should we go today

Mommy and Claire In front of Cinderella's castle

You would think Disneyworld would have more than just goats at their petting zoo but Claire enjoyed brushing not just one but all the goats.

We ate lunch/dinner with the characters from Winnie the Pooh. Claire loved them!!! She wasn't scared at all

Daddy and Claire in Minnies house

Mommy and Claire waiting for the fireworks to start

Claire playing with her new Mickey toy

We went to Disney this past week and had so much fun. Yes, it was exhausting being pregnant at Disney but it was worth it to see the magic in Claire's eyes. I thought she would be too young but she had a ball. We are recovering at home now :) Her favorite activity was the fireworks show. She thought it was the coolest thing ever!

Daddy is Home!!!!!!!

After 129 days in the desert, Nate is back. We are so proud of him and excited that he is home! Claire went right to him but was really shy. She hasn't let him get far out of her sight and has asked that Daddy do everything. She isn't shy anymore and has shown him all her new tricks. Life couldn't be more sweet right now. We praise God that he made it home safe and keep everyone else over there in our prayers.

Twinkle

Claire has re-written the songs. Twinkle is her best one.

It's Raining and Pouring
The Old Man is snoring
He got out of bed and bumped his head
and won't get up till morning

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red and Yellow, Black and White
They are precious in his sight
Jesus Loves the little children of the world

I know she needs some work...but its a start, huh?

Mouse, Meow and Puppy

Today Claire was playing with these beanie babies and I was showing her how you could put them on your shoulders and they would stay when you walked around. She would do it and be so proud that she was carrying them in such a cool way. Well, when it was time for bed we have a "roll call" to make sure all her animals are accounted for and she has everyone she wants. She asked me for Mouse, Meow and Puppy so I went and found them. Then she told me to put them on her shoulders. I told her she couldn't move or they would fall off. I went in 2 hours after that and she hadn't moved. I think I just solved the getting out of the bed problem!!!! Hilarious.

Ultrasound Pic

Okay I lied. I really thought I was getting a 3D/4D Ultrasound. That is what my doctor told me they were sending me to. They wanted to get a better look at the baby's heart. But when I was laying there looking at the screen it looked the same. So I asked and she said no they can't do anatomy scans in 3D/4D. That is only to get a pretty picture of the baby. Part of me was relieved because those pictures are pretty scary looking! The baby only weighs about 2.5 pounds at this point and you get to take a look. No thanks. I would rather wait and see him when God says it is time :) But here is a profile pic. I think he is pretty cute and Praise God nothing is wrong with his heart!

Easter Fun

On Friday Claire went on an Easter Egg Hunt with some friends from church. Michael (Big) and Cal (Little) are brothers and MacKenzie (Big) and Maddie (Little) are sisters. It was sooo cold and Claire only got a few eggs. She isn't the agressive type. But we had a good time. Happy Easter!!!

2 yr old pictures

There is this place over here called Portrait Innovations that I have taken Claire to get her pics done before. I never LOVE the pictures because being into photography, I am very picky...and I think some of the backgrounds are cheesy but for the money they are really reasonable. Here is my favorite from today. It was the "Easter" backdrop which I thought was pretty cute with the animals and stuff. Claire did good but always gave them a "scared smile" because they are wayyyyy too excited and tickle her with big huge flowers.

Birthday Party

I had a little party for Claire on Saturday. I almost didn't because I thought she wouldn't really care but I am so glad that I did. She had so much fun. She loved opening presents even with all the kids helping her, she blew out her candles, and loved listening to everyone sing Happy Birthday to her. It was a great morning...Can't believe my baby is two. She is talking so much lately it is fun to hear her stringing words together to make cute phrases like, "Baby do it!" and "Lacey! Bad Dog Bad Dog" Pretty funny. I think my favorite right now is "Love you Mommy" and "Miss you Daddy!" Of Course she says "Love you Daddy too." Enjoy the pics of the party girl. We will prob get real 2 yr old pics this week so I'll post those soon. It was a garden party so we decorated flower pots and a friend made Claire a flower cake and of course she had to wear a flower dress!!!

Happy Real Birthday Claire

Yesterday was Claire's real 2nd birthday. She won't have her party until next weekend. My dad is here and we went to Chili's for dinner and Claire had a lot of fun eatting icecream with a stick! She said it wasn't as cold that way! Then we went to Carvel and had more icecream! On the way home she dropped a big blob down her shirt and was saying, "cold, cold cold" so we had to pull over and strip her down and wipe her off. It was funny for us, prob not for her. She had a good day and has been practicing how to say 2 for 6 months now.

Front Entry Hall

So here is the front Entry hall. One of my latest projects. I painted it (with the help of my lovely neighbor Joy) a lovely rust color. Can't wait to see what Nate thinks!!! It is a pretty big room so I haven't decided what else to put in here. Any ideas, decorating friends??

Naps are for BABIES!

Yes she is refusing to take naps. It has been going on for a while even before we switched to a bed. In the crib she would sit and talk, sing or play with her animals for hours. I would take everything out of her crib and she would still entertain herself. Now she can get out of bed and sit in her chair and read or play with toys or take everything out of her drawers. This is a diaper day. The next day she took out all her socks and un-matched them by pulling them all apart! Fun times. If I am lucky she will take 1 nap a week...

We are seeing BLUE

We are having a little boy in July! Nate and I are very excited about the news. Claire is still clueless but will be excited once she sees more airplanes and cars around the house. I am 22 weeks and finally am not throwing up. I have some energy in spurts and our house is actually coming together. It finally, finally feels like home. Maybe I will post some pics of the house eventually. Considering we have been here almost 8 months...Love to you all wherever you are. We miss you.

Silly Girl

The other night at dinner I was making these weird noises and Claire thought they were the funniest sounding things ever. She was laughing so hard. I had to capture the moment. She is laughing so hard it barely looks like her. You can see all her teeth. She has a new molar on the bottom and like 5 more are coming in. Besides that last one they haven't bothered her too much.
