Clean and Cuddly

I love it when my kids are clean!!! Jacob HATES getting a bath so it doesn't happen very often. But, when it does I just want to smell him all day :) Here he is tonight after getting clean, dressed, and cuddled! That is why he is so happy

T-Shirt Painting

Claire needed a shirt for school to paint in. We didn't have any old shirts for her to ruin so I bought some. Seems silly, huh. Oh well. One costs the same as three and three costs the same as five. So five shirts, three silly girls, and two nervous moms and we decorated the extras! How fun :) These girls are Madelyn and Mackenzie, two of C's friends and Meredith, who is my friend!

Hilarious. She takes pictures right up against the object. She doesn't really get the distance thing. I love the one of Abby's nose!!! I was teaching her how to take a picture of me when I took this cute pic of her hanging out on the floor. She says to her Giraffe, "smile, Giraffe!" Then, she says, "Ohhhhh that was a good one!" Wonder where she gets that from!

Child's Day Out

Claire had her first day of CDO last week. She was so excited and went right in with no tears. Much different than last year. She is already telling me about her friends and comes home singing a new song everytime. She loves, loves, loves to sing!!! I started a new tradition...Cinnamon Rolls for the first day of school! Yummy! Claire loves them too :)

Myrtle Beach

We went to Myrtle Beach on a whim last weekend and have delayed posting any new pics for a while because I was hiding them from the grandparents. I printed a bunch of recent ones and mailed them to them for Grandparents Day. I know, it's just a Hallmark Holiday but I am a supporter... I think they got them, so I am catching up!

Mrytle Beach was great...Even with a newborn we had a blast. We spent most of our time at the beach or at the pool of our hotel. Fun times. Claire is such a fish. She would swim all day if we let her. Jacob was surprisingly well too. He is known to be a bit fussy but he did great. Maybe he liked the sound of crashing waves :)

Siblings

This girl loves her brother. We were at the mall today and I looked down at the stroller and she was holding his little foot. Like someone would hold your hand. It was so sweet. I didn't have my camera so you'll just get the story. An hour earlier he started crying when I was paying for something and she fished around and found his paci and gave it to him. I didn't ask her to do these things nor did she proudly exclaim that she had done them and expect praise. This is my Claire at 2 1/2, she has such a sweet compassionate heart!

Crackin me up

My girl, Claire, is just crackin me up with the stuff she comes up with lately. She is so curious with all of Jacob's things that were actually hers first. Her she is in his car seat. She also likes to watch TV in the bumbo and last night we were at the mall and she needed to go potty. Well, Jacob was with me in the Baby Bjorn so I took him out and gave him to Nate but left the Bjorn on. On the way back to meet Daddy she wanted to ride in it! So, I let her :) I was laughing so hard I could barely walk. But it didn't feel any different that carrying her. We got some very interesting looks. Well have to get a picture of that. A 2 1/2 yr old hanging out on mom like a kangaroo! Here is another picture of Jacob, he just looks cute!

Auntie Em at the Beach

Auntie Em came to visit and we went to the Beach! Not sure why we never thought of this before but...we went at night and it was perfect!!! We ate dinner down there and went to the beach for 2 hours until the sun was gone. It was a late night for Claire but she just loved playing in the sand, jumping in the puddles, and crashing in the waves! I loved not having to worry that my two red heads would get fried. I think we will do it again :)

I want to be the baby

Claire likes to be "wrapped up" and she goes in Jacob's room, gets all his bibs and puts them all on! She will also steal his paci and put it in her mouth. It is so funny. She forgot how to suck on it so she just places it between her teeth and runs around. Ha!

Glorious Day

So maybe you haven't heard but my Claire Bear NEVER naps. She gave these up around 21 months... Yes very early. Most kids will nap until they are 3 or 4. Hmmm lucky me. Usually she is fine, doesn't really need them. But today she woke up early (yesterday too) and was a BEAR. So I pretty much forced her to take a nap. After many tears (and the promise of a new toy when she woke) she went to sleep. It was so great. Like, she laid in her bed and took a nap. She didn't fall asleep on the floor, watching a movie, or in the car but in her bed. When I realized she wasn't making noise and she was asleep, I got real excited and started thinking about all the things I could get done. Then I thought to myself...go take a nap. No shame, I took a nap too. We all took a nap for almost 3 hours. It was so awesome! Here are some nap pictures :) BTW right when she woke up she asked for her new toy!

Firetrucks and Airplanes

We went to playgroup at the firestation today and she loved the firetrucks. She even made friends with a fireman. Nate was home today and is flying tonight. She found his headset and I told her it was for when daddy flies his airplane. So she went and got her airplane, put on the head set and "flew" her own plane.

Jacob is a month old

The little guy is a month old now and isn't really doing anything cool or funny. He is either sleeping or eatting...doesn't make for the best blogs. But you can see how sweet and inncoent he is :)
