Flowertown Festival
We went to the Flowertown Festival here last weekend. It is basically an enormous crafty type thing. They have a carnival for the kids and Claire had fun with the rides and stuff.
It all started with the train. We were only going to ride the train. It was sooo about to rain and we were parked pretty far. Parents couldn't ride so she had to sit all by herself. She was fine the first time around, second time around the pout face started, third time around the bottom lip started quivering and she very nicely said, "But, Mommy, I wanted to be the driver." Then the tears began and turned into sobs and wails about how she wanted to be the driver. At that point I promptly gave in and went and bought more tickets so when the ride was over she could ride again and be the driver. She was so pitiful, I couldn't handle it. But Daddy (who gives in 99 % of the time) wouldn't let her ride again. So he took her on some spinning strawberries (which she LOVED) and the swings. I was trying to keep up while holding Jacob...
She also went on these super scary swings that I didn't even know they were on until the thing started! Then to make the story even better when they got off Nate noticed that she didn't even met the height requirement!!!! She absolutely LOVED them though and giggled and smiled the whole time.
When we got back in the car she cried all the way home because she wanted to be the driver, and the boys were the driver and no girls were allowed to be the driver, but she REALLY wanted to be the driver...It was pretty sad. Maybe next yr she can be the driver :)

Sheesh Megan! Let her be the driver! :) Tell Nate that she'll never let him forget this day, he sooo must buy her a car now so she can be the driver. I think a pink Barbie powerwheel is in order.
I love it. Daddy's in big trouble now and this is only the beginning. Next time, she'll make sure she's the driver!!! (I have no doubt where she gets that strong streak...) Nana
Dan says - First it was No Girl cheerleaders and now it's no girls can drive the train.. You will PAY!
This will all catch up with you. Fortunately for Claire, there are LOTS of girl pilots!
